Aerospace and Natural Science Academy

The Toledo Public Schools – Aerospace and Natural Science Academy is one of four magnet schools that are designed to give students specialized instruction in some of the hottest industries. They offer a Career Tech focus with an emphasis on hands’ on learning.

Students explore and learn practical skills in several industries such as aviation, aeronautics, animal science, wildlife management, urban agriculture, and environmental sustainability. They have the opportunity to earn college credit, industrial credentials, and associate degrees in those fields. We were challenged to create a productive, open environment with an appropriate personality to reflect this “school like no other”. Modular upholstered seating for collaborative spaces, chairs on wheels and tables that move replaced conventional desks much to the delight of the students.  Bistro tables and stools along with upholstered booths allow the café space to serve as both a dining and study hall with a view of the airport.
